Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate  of  the ruling All Progressives  Congress has disclosed why he left social media platforms.

The former governor of Lagos State who has been at the center of controversies in a video shared by one of his allies, Ademola Oshodi on microblogging platform,  Twitter,  stated that he abandoned social media as a result of the insults hauled at him.

Tinubu also disclosed that he almost had health complication as a result of the attacks he received from social media on a daily basis.

Narrating his ordeal,  Tinubu said: “I don’t read social media anymore;  they abuse the hell out of me. If I read it, I get high blood pressure and angry.

“I don’t read it, so if I want to hear anything, my children or my workers would  say this one say this and when I’m tired, I say please forget it.”

Tinubu’s health has been a subject of concern particularly among members of the opposition and youths with many wondering if he is fit enough to contest in next year’s presidential election.

He has also in no doubt avoided every public debate so far conducted by well meaning Nigerians and conventional media houses.

He is also alleged to have been heavily involved in a hard drug scandal which took place in the United States in 1993.

A recent document tendered by the APC presidential flagbearer to the Independent  National Electoral Commission INEC, showed that Tinubu graduated from Government College Lagos in 1970, four years before the school was established in 1974.

The presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter  Obi on Thursday disclosed why Nigerians should elect him in next year’s general election as president.

Obi who was in Port Harcourt to commission the Nkpolu-Oroworokwo flyover in the River State capital revealed that he attended same school with a former governor of the state, Mr.  Peter Odili.

Obi alleged that it was almost impossible for the school’s  (CKC) football team to have a successful outings if Odili was not on the teamsheet.

He added that unlike some candidates whose background details are not known by anyone, he on the other hand is well known by everyone and that his family members,  classmates among others are all there to testify to his claims.

For Brigadier General Amanda Azubuike, it was a dream come through when she received her first star recently as a general of the US Army after joining the military some 28 years ago.

Filled with emotions, General Azubuike could hardly withhold tears from dropping down her eyes as she recounted  her journey to becoming a brigadier general and the role her family and her faith in God played in her life.

Brigadier General Amanda Azubuike who recalled how her parents passed away six years ago, stated that had they been alive, it would have been a proud day for them.

Born in London to a Nigerian father and a Zimbabwean mother respectively Brigadier General Azubuike joined the military in 1994 and later became an aviator after passing the Army Aviation Officer Basic Course.

“My parents passed away in the last six years, this would have been a proud day for them. But I want to acknowledge my family members who were able to come and travel to be with me here today. Thank you all for coming and sharing this day with me.

“I have said before that you can learn a lot about someone by their journey. So today I am going to share a little bit about my journey and how I got here, because I really never thought I would be here today. I believe my journey is a true testament to my family, my faith in God and also this great country that we live in. I think it is what my mother dreamt of when she left and decided to immigrate to this country years ago.

“I joined the US army even before I became a citizen, and I always knew this country was great, that it was worth fighting for. I am very proud of my heritage, my ethnic roots, we are proud to be an American,” she said.

She’s deservedly proud. Of the 1.2m women and men of the US Army, only about 300 make it to the General Officer cadre to which she has now been promoted.

Dreams really come true.
