Bisi Alimi Hits Hard On Kunle Afolayan Over New Movie 'Anikulapo'

By John Michael Ojo
Controversial Nigerian gay rights activist, Bisi Alimi has given his opinion on recently released movie, ‘Anikulapo‘, produced and directed by Kunle Afolayan.

Despite making its way to popular movie streaming platform Netflix, Alimi maintained that ‘Anikulapo’ lacked creativity and was not far from other movies in the country.

He also alleged that most Nigerian filmmakers do not put in the required effort while making films but want to be idolized.

While giving his criticism on ‘Anikulapo’, Alimi said he expected more from  Kunle Afolayan as he ranked the movie which is currently trending on Netflix, 2/10.

He spoke via his social media handle where he wrote: “Anikulapo is Shit! 2/10.

“What I have learnt from Anikulapo and many films like it is that Nigerians like bare minimum; you don’t even need to put in the effort, just the minimum with loads of shinning, and you are god!

“I am not critiquing the movie cos I want to be the odd one out, because that’s too much job with Nigerians. I am critiquing it because it has potential and it lost it 3mins into the film.

“First, that film has no business being 2hrs! Nigerian filmmakers need to stop that rubbish of pushing film to 2hrs and then filling it up with all the garbage in Idumota.

“Many have argued the set design was unique; sorry, I didn’t see it. I guess what people mistake for the set is the camera. The film made use of good cameras and it made the pictures very clean; believe me, Tunde Kelani has been doing that for ages, nothing new.

“I was upset about the set portrayal of the Oyo empire. Which Oyo was that? Ibeju Lekki Oyo? And the bird? What was that? not even in the days of Eye Jumijoke do we have birds like this.

“That brings me to the dialogue! Jeez! Nothing profound, nothing in depth, just basic. I think he was trying to avoid too much talking in the film. But then, there was less non-verbal acting, so the dialogue most times made no sense.

“And we can now ask the question about the story. What is the story about? If it was about a man who can wake the dead because of his encounter with death and the power he received, why didn’t he get the ability from the bird himself?

“Shola Shobowale did well; glad she was not typecast, but is she needed in that film? The answer is NO. The Oyo palace story was to build up to explain why the Olori did what she did, why I get that, why spend more than 30mins telling us?

“The ending? Does it mean there will be part 2? And how many times did he die in the film? I counted 3. Do they make any sense? The dying, I mean, cos the only death that has meaning to the film was the second one with the Olori

“I am not here to spoil your joy, I just wanted good films to come out of Nigeria. I do. As a graduate of theatre, it pains me when I see the bare minimum from people who can do better. And this is not about budget; I have watched movies shot on mobile phones and meagre budget telling a compelling story and great acting.

“Today is Monday and I am not here for wawulence before you people will come and be attacking me; I am just sharing my opinion; you don’t have to agree with it. PEACE!” he added.

Barely eight months after their extravagant wedding took place in Lagos State, popular Nigerian disc jockey, Kudirat Gbemisola better known as DJ Kulet, has announced an end of the union between herself and her husband, Ohis Emmanuel.

DJ Kulet who stated this in a lengthy post on her Instagram handle on Monday, accused her ex husband of infidelity. She alleged that her now ex husband molested a minor in their matrimonial home for six months during the course of their marriage.

She said: “I’m publicly disassociating myself from my ex husband, Ohis Emmanuel (aka Benjamin) @hemmarsnoop due to his egregious & reprehensible actions.

“Despite overwhelming evidence including chats, photos, videos, and voice notes of his infidelity, he has refused to change his ways.

“The final straw was the shocking discovery of his prolonged sexual abuse of a 13-year-old minor which occurred under my roof for six months.

“Previously, I had forgiven him after he shifted the blame for his infidelity to external influences, unaware of the extent of his abuse.

“Further investigation, including a video confession on December 28th, 2024, revealed that he had also molested his 20-year-old cousin, resulting in her contracting an infection, as well as her friend.

“His predatory behavior predominantly targets minors, and he continues to engage in infidelity with multiple women. In our short-lived marriage of less than 8 months, I have treated infections three times.

“As a victim myself, I feel compelled to expose individuals like him to protect others. I urge everyone to be vigilant and hold perpetrators accountable for their actions.”

Kanayo Gives Reason Why Most Ladies Are Unmarried At 30+

Published

By John Michael Ojo

Veteran Nollywood actor and entrepreneur, Anayo Modestus Onyekwere professionally known as Kanayo O. Kanayo, has blamed the singleness of most ladies on the choices they made in their prime.

The 62-year-old lawyer and movie producer who stated this in a recent interview with News Central, alleged that most ladies who are still unmarried in their 30s, spent most of their prime dating older men who were married while rejecting the advancement of young prospective suitors.

According to Kanayo, “Some girl will be in the university at 18, 19, 20, she starts dating a very rich guy, sometimes, very old too. Then what you see along the line is that because the guy is very rich and probably married, she refuses the advances of other younger people because the guy has either gotten her a car and a house. So to her, she’s operating on a very high level.

“From 22, she goes on to 24 and maybe even if she quarrels with this guy, she gets the next guy. And before you know it, she turns 25, 26 unmarried because she refuses the advances of younger prospective husbands. She gets into 29, 30, by that time she had left the university and men are no longer finding her that attractive.

“So she gets into 31, husband is not coming. And what do you have? At 23, she’s a flex. At 28, she becomes a prayer point. After 33, she’s declared a state of emergency. Because husbands will not come at that level of 33 years. Some of them get to 35 unmarried. And they still think that they are having fun. They are not having fun. They are now in a state of emergency praying that God brings anyone.”

Soludo Reveals How Daughter’s Marriage Broke 142 Years Family Jinx

By John Michael Ojo

The governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has revealed that the traditional marriage ceremony held on Saturday between his daughter Ifeatu Adaora Soludo and Arinze Ibekwe in Aguata Local Government Area of the state, was the first of its kind among the Soludo’s family.

The elated former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria and a father of four girls, who stated this in a post via his verified Facebook account said the birth of female children had been a major challenge in the family until he was blessed by God through four of such beautiful children.

The now viral post reads: “In the presence of my family, kinsmen, friends, and my in-laws from Onitsha, I gave out my lovely daughter, Ifeatu Adaora Soludo, to her heartthrob after all traditional rites had been met and certified in line with the customs of the Isuofia community.

“I celebrate this historic event for two reasons. First, God has graciously blessed the larger Soludo family with another such marital union after 142 years.

“This is largely due to the fact that female children have been a rarity in the past three generations of the Soludo family.

“To break that “jinx,” God has mercifully provided me with four beautiful daughters, whom I celebrate every day,” he added.
