Nigerian Grammy award winner, Ayodeji Balogun better known as Wizkid stole the show on Sunday as he went home with the highest number of awards at the 2022 Headies in Atlanta, United States of America.
While rave of the moment, Buju BNXN, won the most coveted 2022 Headies Next Rated award and a 2020 brand new Bentley car, Olamide, Burna Boy, Davido and Adekunle Gold were also big names on the award list.
In an event which had the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State in attendance, Burna Boy’s mother, Bose Ogulu, a member of legendary Afrobeat pioneer, Fela Anikulapo Rasmson Kuti’s dance group also received a special recognition for her influence in Afrobeat and the Nigerian music industry.
She was honoured alongside Efe Omorogbe, who managed 2Baba’s illustrious career and who contributed actively to the evolution of Afrobeats.
