Reach For The STARS Because You Are A STAR!

Tribute To The Queen Elizabeth II

          By Praise Victoria Abraham

Life sometimes throws us dirt, at various times in our lives.  Sometimes it starts in our tender years and other times it starts when we are teenagers. The truth is that some people suffer their dirt-throwing situations as adults and we have cases of people who have been covered in dirt all their lives.

We all have issues in life and we all go through difficult and traumatic situations. if you have already gone through yours and you survived give great thanks to the living God for the great victories and great escape.

In life we deal with issues of low self-esteem, early failures in life, severe rejection, setbacks and defeat. Everybody has to deal with some form of trauma or another and the only difference is that it comes to us  at different levels and differing degrees in the course of our lives.

We must find ways to deal with our dirt in life either through counselling, medical interventions or through the simple power of prayers. The truth is that sometimes we need to combine all the different methods of interventions to heal from the dirt that life and people throw at us.

The earlier we heal the better for our psyche. We need to heal to live. We need to heal to soar.  We need to heal to be able to become all that we were originally born to be.  Hiding from our pain, troubles and traumas is never the way to go.

I remember the popular story of the eagle chick that found itself amongst chickens. It grew up with these chickens though it was a baby eaglet. It ate with them, drank with them and slept with them in the same chicken-infested environment.  The bonding was so strong that it began to pick dirt with them and sleep in dirt like them but this did not take away from the fact that the baby eaglet was really an eagle bird.

The home of the eagle bird is in the skies. It was born to soar. The question is what do you do when you are dumped amongst chickens in an environment alien to you especially when you have never sighted another eagle bird just like yourself?   Yes you are the king of the skies but you found yourself in a foreign place with lower birds that eat dirt and you never knew you were different from the brood of chickens.

The only thing that can save us in this situation is if we are helped to escape this environment or if we suddenly come to a sudden realization of who we are in life, better still a combination of these two scenarios could be necessary for you to be free and to be all that we were created to be by providence.

The way we see ourselves matters in life…..going forward  let us  choose to see….

Endless possibilities.

See new opportunities opening for your good daily.

See million dollars businesses opening to you directly.

See favour encompassing you like a shield daily.

See kings and queens doing your biddings daily.

See lines falling for you in pleasant places daily.

See new waves of glory pouring over your life and destiny daily.

See mighty cascades of favour, glory and greatness overflowing in every place.

See new doors of power, progress and promotions opening up for you daily.

See people working to see you prosper and get to the top of your game daily.

See angels hearkening to every one of your calls daily.

See God daily celebrating you and ensuring that your life becomes the envy of millions.

See joy like an ocean deep within your spirit, soul and mind daily.

See new doors, visions, dreams, insights, and horizons opening up for you daily.

Everyday resolve to see good, think good, be good and do good.

Choose to see differently, powerfully and positively every day of your life going forward.

Nothing will be impossible to achieve for you any longer, you are in a new season of power, promises and possibilities.  It is the dawn of a new day and a new glory!

It is a new era of a new season that portends a brand new beginning for you and I.

My message to you today is simple, and that is the fact that you are created to soar, to wield influence and create impact and become great in life.   I do not care what kinds of trauma you might have suffered in life. The end of the trauma has come. Today a new chapter opens up for us all to soar, shine and succeed as the true persons in God that we all are. Yesterday is gone. Today is a brand new day to live and dream again. It is time to soar, conquer and rule your world.

You owe yourself greatness.

You owe yourself glory.

You owe yourself success.

The way that you see matters. What you are looking at matters. How you daily perceive yourself matters. Who you hang out with daily matters. Who you are getting advice  from daily matters.   You must ensure that you see right, perceive right and act right.

You were not born to just look on in life. You were born to participate in the game of life.  You were not born to just spectate as an onlooker, you were born to be the change and to create new paths for others to follow.  You were born a star. Choose to live as the star that you are.

Today we must all choose to reach for the stars because we are all STARS!

“At the beginning of this year, one of the prophecies was to pray against fire outbreaks, storms, and floods.

“We’ve only spent one month, and we’ve already seen the rate of fire incidents across the world. Nigeria is part of the world, and we must be prayerful.”

To the farmers who are preparing their lands for the farming season, Adeboye said, “Don’t joke with any form of naked fire around you.”

“And farmers, please don’t burn bushes while preparing your farms.

“Don’t say I didn’t tell you. May the Almighty God answer our prayers and grant our requests.”

Olaopa Seeks Support For Education At Fundraising For Olivet Baptist High School

Published

on

Prof. Tunji Olaopa

The Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission, Prof. Tunji Olaopa, has urged support for education as government alone cannot meet the challenges of the sector.

Olaopa made the appeal in Abuja on Thursday in an address as the Chairman of the 80th Fundraising Dinner for the Olivet Baptist High School, Oyo.

While noting that the school was in need of support for development, he acknowledged that the entire educational sector in the country was faced with the same fate.

He said: “To have been established in 1945 and to still retain some measure of its old glory, given what the lamentable fate of public schools in Nigeria, is no mean feat. In another breath, that the generations of we old students, that are here today, are alive to witness this momentous celebration of a school that has so greatly impacted our formative years and all we have become in life calls for reflection. A reflection on the clear fact that if Olivet had impacted us so profoundly, is it not evident that the school now needs us to give back to it, in measure that will impact at this its trying time, in a manner of speaking? And Olivet is not alone in this challenged state, as restoring the glory of the old famous schools nationwide including the more recent, the Unity Schools of FG Colleges and states’ model schools is now the concern of all stakeholders and policy makers. ”

According to Olaopa, public schools and indeed public education institutions are not just challenged, “they are failing on every education achievement parameter: content/curriculum and pedagogy; infrastructure/technology for learning and for school administration; funding and sustainability; quality assurance; teacher professionalism and teacher education; certification, relevance and employability. Indeed, a huge chunk of teachers in these schools are provided and sustained by PTAs, and government is making effort to formalise the recruitment of those who are qualified by government standard within the limit of availability.

” It is unhelpful to therefore keep heaping blame on governments. What the times and tides require is for all hands to be on deck, even as the need for policy innovation and creativity on the side of government cannot be overemphasized.”

While commending the Dr. Wale Okediran-led leadership for mobilizing the different sets and chapters to rise up to the task of lifting Olivet to greater heights, he urged those present at the event including guests, well-wishers and old students to donate gtenerously to the 80th anniversary fundraising.

” I can assure you that every kobo contributed will be justifiably and accountably utilised towards restoring the glory of OBHS, Oyo”, he added.
